What a time to be alive. (WATTBA.)
The scope of the project was to create a digital exhibition for the year 2020 of the first 20 years of the 21st century. I sought to illustrate major breakthroughs and events using data compiled by Future Timeline. Part fact and part fiction, their timeline is based on detailed research based on analysis of current trends, longterm environmental changes, technological advances, medical breakthroughs, and evolving geopolitical landscapes.
It’s always nostalgic to look back to these major events in history and reflect on the advancements humankind as made–both the good and the bad. My hope is for our reflections to steer us onto the right paths by learning from our past.
20 Years of illustration
Each event per year was given a flat vector icon/illustration (that is visually connected to the information provided) and colored with the according Pantone swatch for that year. Altogether, the collection of illustrations created toy box collages where the user can navigate for information they’re interested in.
