The urban hunt for art
Urban Art Hunt is a theoretical app that focuses on providing the community a verified directory of public artwork, graffiti, and other displays of creativity in the local area while serving as a collection game.
The goal of the app is to encourage current residents and visitors to explore urban art around town by involving gamification. Instead of simply locating and viewing art, users can also save taken photos of art into collections, complete daily challenges, and get badges and rewards within the app. The app would also direct users to new art or graffiti not found anywhere else.
behind-the-scenes
In order to create a fluid and positive user experience, wireframes were used to plan out the interface, persona cards to scope potential users, and case-by-case mapping to further understand the interactivity.
Brick by brick
I wanted the logo and design of Urban Art Hunt to communicate the idea of unexpected findings in an urban setting. Deciding to imply that idea directly, I used a black/white brick pattern and gold colors to symbolize hidden treasures. The acronym of the title happened to create a fun expression and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to emphasize it.
Say it with me: UAH!
